A. M. “Sonny” Bailey, 67, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Ken James officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

The son of J. C. and Mary Shivers, Sonny was born June 20, 1945 in Paris, Texas. He grew up in Paris and graduated from high school there. For a few years he lived in Dallas where he worked as a carpet installer. After moving to Hillsboro in 1978, he owned and operated Bailey Floors for over 20 years.

Sonny enjoyed watching all sports and especially love watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and even Nascar. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

Preceding him in death was a brother, Lewis Canada.

Survivors include his three children, Suzanne Hill and husband, Scott, of Hillsboro, Shawn Hurley of Plano, and Craig Bailey of Hillsboro; three step-children, Stephanie Pivec and husband, Jim, of Crowley, Stephen Griesenbeck and wife, Kari, of Okinawa, Japan, and Carmen Hudecheck and husband, Mark of Whitney; sister, Janie Foster of Irving; grandchildren, Ryan and Jordan Hurley, Zack Hill, Gracie and Kristian Bailey, Mitchell Griesenbeck, Natalie and Alex Pivec, Jay, Kaitlynn, and Stephen Dakota Griesenbeck, and Samantha Zepeda; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
