A. B. Bart Gant, 89 of Whitney passed away on June 1, 2010 in Whitney. Bart was born on February 28, 1921 near Aquilla; the son of the late Ivy and Ela Harris Gant. He married Wanda Fay Carmichael on July 11, 1942 in Whitney. He was the owner and operator of a trucking company retiring in 1987. Bart enjoyed going fishing, antiquing and buying and selling. He was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and door greeter. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Bernice who died at birth; brother Hootie; sisters, Ona Mae Tidwell, Lillian Vinson and granddaughter, Cindy Gant. Survivors include his wife Wanda; two daughters, Carolyn Waldrop and husband, Bill of Laredo, Martha Redding and husband Jerry of Coolidge; two sons, Wayne Gant and wife, Billie of Hillsboro, Mike Gant of Austin; six grandchildren, Billy Waldrop, Tammy Hein, Ne'sha Mays, Michael Gant, Matthew Gant, Mallory Gant; six great grandchildren, Kelle Jr., Davis, Kalen, Kyla, Keiry, Kesha; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and neighbors.
