A. C. Richardson

A. C. “Sonny” Richardson, 81, of Hillsboro passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Baylor Scott & White in Temple from complications of fibrous lung disease. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Pastor Jamey Burrus officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. A Celebration of Life will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Cotton Exchange Café in Hillsboro on the square. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at the funeral home.

A. C. was born on June 29, 1936 in Tyler to A. C. Richardson, Sr. and Geneva Gilmore Richardson. A graduate of Hillsboro High School, A. C. attended Tarleton State University and served in the United States Army. He began his career at International Harvester in Hillsboro then opened Richardson’s Truck and Tractor in Haskell on February 29, 1964. After celebrating more than 50 years in business, A. C. retired with his wife to their farm in Hillsboro.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Fox Richardson; devoted sister, Janis Richardson Blackstone of Ennis; three sons, Clark Richardson (Debbie) of Lubbock, Gil Richardson of Stephenville, and Doug Richardson (Elisabeth) of Austin; step-daughter, Dana Abshire Rich (John) of Frisco; 10 grandchildren, Trent Richardson (Crystal), Tracy Richardson Bond (Landon), Bryan Richardson, Emily Richardson Taylor, Kyle Richardson, Matthew Richardson, Emma Richardson, John Rich IV, Matthew Rich, and Ryan Rich; four great-grandchildren; and nephew, Wade Daniel and niece, Karen Daniel Monroe and their families.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Children’s Tumor Foundation for Neurofibromatosis Research, 120 Wall Street 16th Floor, New York, NY 10005-3904 or CTF.org.
