Aaron Harper “Dunc” Duncan, 72, of Hillsboro passed away Saturday afternoon December 26, 2015. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 31, at Elkins Cemetery near Omen, Texas with Mr. Peter Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Born on November 8, 1943 in Livingston, Texas, "Dunc" was the son of Talmage and Ethel (Musslewhite) Duncan. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1960-1964 and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. During his working career, he managed a water processing facility. He was also a member of the Church of Christ.
A true outdoorsman, Dunc especially enjoyed the mountains and desserts. He was a packrat of “treasures” and keepsakes. An avid animal lover, he also enjoyed collecting guns and knives. He was preceded in death by his wife Anita Smith Duncan on December 15, 2013. Also preceding him in death were his parents.
His survivors include four children, Bobbi Newell and husband, Glenn, of Glendale, AZ, Aaron Duncan and wife, Luva, of Wilmington, NC, Jenell Henning and husband, Bill, of Lexington, OK and Vanessa Pritchett of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Tad Duncan and wife, Linda, of Hillsboro; three sisters, Freda Rhoads of Wimberly, Marilyn Raney of Atlanta, and June Florey of Pearland; six grandchildren, Andrew, Amanda, Erika, Joseph, Matt and Jared; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
