Ada Lee Grier, 101, of Whitney passed away July 18, 2011 in a Whitney nursing home. Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Marshall & Marshall Chapel in Whitney with Dr. Lynn Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday.

Ada was born on March 23, 1910 in Vaughan, Texas, to Henry Garfield and Fannie Mae (Miller) Morgan. As a young woman, she moved to Dallas where she worked as a pattern maker for many years at Lorch Manufacturing Company until retiring in her 70's. Ada was well known in Whitney for her plants and flowers. She lived her life each day as an example of her Christian faith. She was a member of Peoria Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, T. P. Grier; brother, Henry Morgan; son, Wayne Hutto; and grandson, Paul Hutto.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Becky Weverka and husband John of Whitney; 3 great grandchildren, Joshua Weverka of Hubbard, Paul Weverka and Quintin Weverka of Whitney; sister-in-law, Erma Morgan of Whitney; and many cousins and extended family.
