Ada James

Ada M. James, 86, of Whitney, passed away on March 18, 2015, at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Rusty Penney officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ada was born on November 3, 1928, in Abilene, to Clyde Raymond and Nina (Barger) Campbell. She graduated from Texas Christian Univeristy. On June 2, 1948, she married D.P. James in Lubbock. A homemaker, she had lived in Whitney since 1958 and was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Joe Donald Campbell; and a granddaughter, Amy Martinez.

She is survived by her husband, D.P. James of Whitney; children, Rebecca Lou Martinez and husband, Eddie, of Waxahachie and John Paul James and wife, Ronda, of Whitney; grandchildren, Emily Opal James and Andy Martinez; great-granddaughter, Bella Martinez; a brother, Jack Campbell of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Clyde Ora Bullard of Corsicana and Mary Campbell of Abilene.
