Addie Owens

Addie D. Owens, 96, of Hillsboro died Sunday, September 5, 2010, at Homestead Nursing Center in Hillsboro. The funeral service has been moved to Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel due to inclement weather. Addie was born March 21, 1914 in the Bethel Community in Hill County, TX daughter of Doyle and Martha Clark Bennett. An avid sewer, Addie loved making clothes for her children and grandchildren and also loved flowers. For over 20 years, she was a cook at Williams Drive In in Hillsboro. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, J. O. Owens on October 7, 1976; brother, Sam Bennett; and great-granddaughter, Danielle Kettler. Survivors include her daughter, Delores Dodge of Whitney; five grandchildren, Sherri Lawrence and husband, Mike, of Frost, Tina Carlton of Granbury, Phillip Dodge and Mike Dawson both of Gilroy, CA, and Sheila Morris and husband, Dave, of Leander; and six great-grandchildren.
