Addie Mae Wood, 77, of Malone passed away Wednesday morning, August 24, 2016, at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2016, at Covington Cemetery with Pastor Danny Gilliam of First Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to Noon Monday prior to service time at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Addie was born August 8, 1939 in Sand Flat to Yuelus and Fannie E. (Bates) Doty. On December 15, 1972, she was united in marriage to David Wood. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2016. For over 20 years, Addie was employed at Wall’s Industries in Cleburne. Following her retirement, she was a teacher’s aide and bus driver for special needs students at Malone ISD for 15 years, where her husband was the Superintendent. Addie was of the Baptist faith.
Also preceded her in death were her parents; two sisters, Netti and Louise; and three brothers, Yuelus, Jr., Billy Don, and Raymond.
Survivors include her three children, Dede Tillery and husband, Clay, of Denton, Randy Quattlebaum of Amarillo, and Paula Quattlebaum of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two best friends, Ramona Noble and Barbara Nors; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
