Adela was a homemaker and loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Sister, Aunt, & Friend to all who knew her. Prior to living in Whitney, she traveled extensively with her husband, who worked as an Army Civil Service Engineer for the Department of Defense. Adela had several interests, which included traveling, cooking, gardening/floral arrangement, reading, sewing and caring for those she loved deeply. At heart, she was a true Texan who loved bluebonnets, pecans, and watermelon, but also enjoyed her tropical island experiences, especially the waves in Guam. She was a strong woman with a deep faith in the Lord and she believed tremendously in the power of prayer and miracles. Her sweetness, smile, generosity, and kindness are those attributes that will be remembered and truly missed by so many who loved her.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Raymond Robles Garza, daughter, Rebecca Garza-Mattia, her brothers, Robert, Arturo, and Gilbert Muñiz, her sisters Minerva Cantu, Dina Lopez, and Mary Ann Muñiz.

Survivors are her children, Irene Garza DeVerna (Robert) of Charlestown, Rhode Island, Raymond Garza (Brie) of Haltom City, Texas, and Kathy Garza Dixon (Brian) of Knox, Indiana, and son-in-law Robert Mattia of Derry, New Hampshire. Her surviving siblings are Richard Muñiz (Lupe) of Hurst, Texas and Esther Vasquez (Richard) of Cedar Hill, Texas. In addition, she is survived by 4 great grandchildren, Brady & Taylor DeVerna, and Myla & Theo Sears, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and caregivers.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and personal care members of Divine Living and Bridgeway Health Services for the kindness extended to our Mother while in their care.
