Adolph was the son of Marian Lawson and Maudie Cox McCoy. On Aug. 12, 1960 he married Betty Vernell Hester, and she preceded him in death on April 26, 2001. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army from Sept. 6, 1945 until Jan. 18, 1947. During this time he served with the 29th General Hospital at Seoul, Korea and received the WWII Victory Metal and the Army of Occupation Metal. At the time of his honorable discharge he was a Tec 5. After living in Dallas he moved to Whitney when he retired in 1984 from his work as a carpenter. Also preceding him in death were his parents, one brother: Clayton McCoy, Seven Sisters: Pearl Bailey, Annie Wimberly, Lorene Pennington, Elsie McKim, Gladys Lowery, Lois Marie Gary, and Rose Glover. Adlolph was survived by 3 daughters: Patsy Carson of Rockwall, Tammy McCoy Allred and husband Vincent Lee of Morgan, and Lisa McCoy Clark and husband Danny of Miami, Texas, 1 son: Frederick Herman McCoy of Dallas, 1 brother: Cecil McCoy and wife Debbie of Athens, 2 Sisters: Bernice Barton and husband J. B. of Dallas, Eva Zabonic of Steele Creek Acres in Bosque Co., 6 grandchildren: and 10 great-grandchildren.
