Agnes Keeton

Biography

Agnes Keeton, 96, of Hillsboro passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Mr. Bruce Martin and Mr. Glenn Standly officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to service time at the funeral home. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Agnes was born September 25, 1917 in the Huron Community of Hill County to Albert Newton and Bertha Margaret (Adams) Dollar. In 1950, she married Willie “Pete” Keeton and they lived in Waxahachie. Pete preceded her in death in 1980. In 1994, Agnes moved back to Hillsboro.

Prior to her marriage, she worked at T. B. Bond Pharmacy in Hillsboro and at J. C. Penney in Hillsboro and Waxahachie. She was a member of College Hill Church of Christ in Hillsboro.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her sister, Nell Gregory and husband, Edward, of Hillsboro; two sisters-in-law, Merle Dollar of Whitney and Mamie Dollar of Dallas; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
