Albert Gerald Mitchell, 86, of Cleburne passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at Heritage Trails Nursing Facility in Cleburne. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Brandon Cemetery in Brandon with Mr. Roger Stewart officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Albert was born May 26, 1926 in Milford to the late Albert and Anna (Himmel) Mitchell. He attended schools in Lorenzo. During World War II, he served his country in the United States Navy as a medic from February 8, 1944 to May 29, 1946, at which time he was honorably discharged. On January 14, 1950 he married Aileen Belyeu in Post and she preceded him in death on August 9, 2003.

He worked for many years in seismography and for Kimbell Grocery in Lubbock. The couple moved from Lubbock to Sulphur Springs in 1971 and Albert opened his own business named Circle M Distribution Company. In 1986, they moved to Hillsboro where he started his service station and recycling business.

An avid reader, Albert enjoyed reading all types of books. He was a member of the Covington Church of Christ in Covington.

Also preceding him in death was one sister, Dorothy Caudle.

Survivors include his four children, Theresa Stewart of Clifton, Albert M. Mitchell and wife, JoLynn, of Amarillo, John A. Mitchell and wife, Rebecca, of Aquilla, and Glynn A. Mitchell and wife, Tanya, of Cleburne; sister, Evelyn Anderson of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
