Alberta Moore

Alberta Moore, 86, of Whitney passed away at a local hospital on December 17, 2007. She was the daughter of Albert and Faye Greer Sylvester. She grew up in Texas. Alberta married Oscar Montgomery in 1942 and lived in California until 1963. She moved back to Texas and married Kirk Moore in 1968. She sold fine jewelry for 15 years in Abilene. She and Kirk moved to Whitney in 1989. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Whitney. Alberta sang in church choirs and quartets as an alto. She loved flowers and gardening. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Geneva Rogers. Survivors include her husband, Kirk of Whitney; children, Linda Montgomery of Flower Mound, Elaine Hons and husband, George of Elm Mott; brother, Kenneth Sylvester of Abilene; grandchildren, Christine Grubbs, Rene? Holliman, Eric Hons and Heather Hons; great grandchildren, Andrew Brown, Elizabeth Brown and Alex Hons. Memorials: American Cancer Society, 1311 N. New Road, Waco, TX 76710
