Alene Barnett

Alene Barnett, 73, of Hubbard passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013, at her residence. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Friday, August 30, 2013, at Penelope Cemetery in Penelope with Butch Boatwright and Michael Green officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Friday prior to service time at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Alene was born September 26, 1939 in McLennan County to Delton and Georgie (Poteet) Kruger. She lived in Central Texas most of her life. On August 26, 1985, she married Lonnie Barnett. She worked as a waitress and later worked in wholesale distribution for many years. Alene loved to sew and be with her grandchildren. She was a member of Hubbard Cowboy Church in Hubbard.

Preceding her in death were her parents and previous husband, Floyd Marcott.

Survivors include her husband, Lonnie Barnett of Hubbard; six children, Floyd Marcott of Hubbard, Ronnie Marcott of Bellmead, Rick Marcott and Delton Marcott, both of Tokio, Robert Lewis Barnett of Stockdale, and Carol Ann Ellis of Floresville; two brothers, David Lee Kirkpatrick of Somerville and Charles Kirkpatrick of Tokio; sister, Francis Jackson, of Boise, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hubbard Cowboy Church, P. O. Box 278, Hubbard, TX 76648.
