Alfonso O Estrada

Alfonso Estrada, 86, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away on December 20, 2022, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, December 23, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, in Hillsboro, with Alfonso Estrada, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall.

Alfonso was born on February 28, 1936, in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, to Teodoro and Emilia Olivares Estrada. He was the twelfth child of fifteen! Acuna is where Welito (Grandpa) met the love of his life, Maria Olga Gonzalez. They united in marriage in December of 1962. They have been happily married for sixty years. Welito’s main priority and happiness in life was his “Cora.” Our welitos (grandparents) decided to come to the United States for a better chance at life, not only for themselves but for their children. Welito lived his best life raising his children and grandchildren in Brandon, Texas. There he worked as a farmer and handyman. He enjoyed gardening, raising animals and grilling. There is never a time he complained about a single thing, he was an all-around happy person, a family man and an extremely hard-working man. He was by far the greatest welito of all but most importantly he was a God-fearing man. Welito guided his children and grandchildren down a road of righteousness as best he could not only in word, but he led by example. We are forever blessed to have had him in our lives, that Estrada blood runs deep within us.

There will always be an empty void in our hearts and souls that only the love of welito could fill, but knowing that he is now at peace and reunited with his two sons, granddaughter and great-granddaughter brings us great comfort.

He is survived by his loving wife Maria Olga Estrada; his sons, Alfonso Jr. and wife Ana, David and wife Olga; his daughters, Mary Estrada, Olga Abreu and husband Justino, Ana and Millie Estrada. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
