Alfred Brewer

Alfred Carl Brewer, 79, of Whitney passed away at his residence on August 21, 2016. No services are scheduled.

Alfred was born on April 19, 1937, in Washington, D.C., to Arlie and Catherine (Aldridge) Brewer. He served his country in the United States Army and the United States Air Force from 1955-1964.

An air conditioning tech by profession, he worked for Lennox Air Conditioning in Fort Worth then worked for Builders Transport in Dallas as a truck driver. He moved to Whitney in 1998.

An avid bowler, he also enjoyed playing golf as well as collecting coins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his children, Allen Carl Brewer of Whitney, Kathlene Pratt and husband, Harry of Joshua, Valerie Gautreaux of Joshua; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and two half-brothers, Lloyd Hampson of Michigan and John Hampson of Alvardo.
