Alonzo Alvarado, 66, of Hillsboro died April 23, 2008, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. Alonzo was born March 7, 1942 in Elsa, Texas the son of Francisco and Sara Diaz Alvarado. He grew up in the Elsa and Corpus Christi areas. In 1960 he moved to Hillsboro. On October 6, 1962 he married Oralia Garcia in Hillsboro. Before retiring in 1983, he worked for MKT Railroad for 19 years. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Thomas Alvarado; and two sisters, Eva Gonzales and Belinda Alvarado. Survivors include his wife, Oralia Alvarado of Hillsboro; four daughters, Angie Alvarado Tawater and husband, Terry, of Palestine, and Oralia Alvarado, Norma Jean Alvarado, and Sarah Alvarado McPherson and husband, David, all of Hillsboro; three brothers, Anthonio Alvarado of Modesto, CA, Israel Gonzalez, Jr. of Ceres, CA, and Finis Moore and wife, Betty, of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Devin McPherson of Hillsboro, and Cody and Kayla Tawater both of Palestine; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
