Alva Walker, Sr

Alva Kenneth "Pops" Walker, Sr., 77, of Whitney passed away in his home on July 21, 2006. Kenneth was born on Feb. 20, 1929, in Crosbyton, TX. He married Marlene JoAnn Jody Martin on Feb. 20, 1953. He was predeceased by his parents, Alva and Tennie Estelle Farquhar Walker. He worked at Texas Instruments for 13 years and then retired from road construction in 1989. ?Pops? devoted his time to providing shelter and food for animals in the Lake area. He was a philanthropist at heart and found causes to silently support. He was greatly loved and will be remembered by many. He is survived by his children, Diane Jim Sellers of Grapevine, TX, Vicki High of Portland, OR, Ken Janet Walker, Jr. of Van Alstyne, TX, Kirk Tammy Walker of Austin, TX; twelve grandchildren 3 descendants and 9 chosen and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, LaVerne Hill of Tacoma, WA, and nieces, Carol MatthewBlundell, Frida Ann Jim Carlsen and Kim White and their children.
