Amanda Lee Cranfill, age 70, passed away Friday July 3, 2020, surrounded by family at her home in Itasca. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Central Baptist Church in Itasca with Bro. Wade Yarbro and Bro. Rex Jean officiating. Burial will follow at Itasca Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, July 4, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Amanda was born January 27, 1950, in Hillsboro, Texas to Chester and Maggie Upchurch from Itasca. She was a graduate of Itasca High School. On May 8, 1970, Amanda married Milton Cranfill in Itasca.
A huge sports fan, she loved any sport or activity her family was involved in but especially loved playing basketball, the sport she excelled at in high school. Amanda loved the Wampus Cats and had a special connection with the Baylor Lady Bear Basketball Team, where she and Milton were season ticket holders.
She was a Christian and a member of Central Baptist Church in Itasca. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an amazing Grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Chester and Maggie Upchurch; and sisters-in-law, Linda Upchurch and Dorothy Cranfill.
Amanda is survived by her husband of 50 years, Milton Cranfill; daughters, Amy Cranfill of Austin and Katy Bowman and husband, Jon, of Itasca; son, Greg Cranfill and wife, Katy, of Cypress; grandsons, Brady Cranfill and Henry Bowman; special family members, Anna and Abby, her two dogs; brothers, Kenneth Upchurch and wife, Carol, of Itasca and Ronnie Upchurch and wife, Pat, of Blum; nephews and nieces, Coy Upchurch of Granbury, Kerry Upchurch and wife, Kim, of Itasca, and Crystal Cochran of Waco; and sister-in-law, Helen Stone and husband, Jim, and their sons.
Amanda always had a special place in her heart for all of her pets. Because of this, in lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Humane Society of the United States.
