Andree Pressia Hager, 88, of Whitney, passed away on March 3, 2017, at Park Plaza Nursing Home. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Private entombment will follow at Laurel Land in Dallas.
Andree was born in Seraing, Belgium on January 4, 1929, to Alexandre and Margarite (Hamann) Pressia. She married Eldon Hager, an American GI, during World War II and their love affair lasted 61 years. They began their marriage on a farm in Gentryville, Missouri. Eldon then rejoined the Air Force and they traveled the world, finally retiring in Irving, Texas.
They were the parents of Eldon R. Hager and Greta Hager Mankins. She reitred from the federal government after 30 years of employment where she had worked for multiple agencies including OSI, Selective Service and the Navy. She won numerous prizes as both an amateur and professional porcelain doll maker.
She had lived in Whitney since 2007 and was a resident of Country Club Community, but lived in Park Plaza Nursing Home for the last year of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon W. Hager; a son, Eldon Ray Hager; and a grandson, Matthew Mankins.
Survivors include her daughter Greta Mankins and son-in-law, Donald Mankins; a granddaughter, Danielle Vinson; two great-grandchildren, Andrea and Trenton Vinson; and a daughter-in-law, Cynthia White.
