Anita Adler, 90, of Hillsboro passed away Saturday afternoon, July 2, 2016, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro of a sudden illness. Her family will host a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Grace City Church, 1945 Old Brandon Rd., Hillsboro, TX 76645, with Mr. Bob Jones officiating.
Anita was born May 14, 1926 in Hill County to Gus and Bernice (Osborne) Jones. She married Raymond Adler of Malone at the beginning of WWII and moved to Vermont for a short period while he went through training for special services. After training, she moved back to Hillsboro while he served overseas. After the war. they moved to Ft. Worth in 1952. She then went to work for Millers Insurance Group of Texas for many years. She was promoted to several positions during her time there and was manager of an underwriting department until her retirement. She was very involved with the Women's Insurance Organization of Ft. Worth and served in different offices including president during her time with the group. She became interested in genealogy and began to research her family's history. She took great pleasure in attending family reunions to question family members regarding their memories and met many distant relatives traveling through out the United States. After her retirement, she moved back to Hillsboro where she became involved with the Hill County Genealogy Society. She resided at 419 Bond Street until April of this year when she moved to Town Hall Estates. She attended First Baptist Church of Hillsboro. Not having grandchildren of her own, she loved visiting with her many nieces and nephews and their children.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Kevin Adler of Ft. Worth; parents; and brother, Gus Jones of Whitney.
Survivors include her brothers, Bob Jones of Hillsboro and Jack Jones of Terrell; and son, Danny Adler of Dallas.
