Anita Erwin

Anita Carrol Erwin, 82, of Waco passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018, surrounded by family at the Jeffrey Place Healthcare Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018, at the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Mr. Bruce Martin of the Whitney Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, at the funeral home.

Born April 10, 1935 in Hill County, she was the daughter of Nolan Lee and Billie Mozelle (Jenkins) Rose. She began her working career at the Hillcrest Carpet Plant in Hillsboro. Anita was a waitress at the Thunderbird Restaurant in Hillsboro for over 30 years. She later was a receptionist for Waco Dodge in Waco and Wilson Body Shop in Hillsboro.

Treasured time with her family brought Anita great joy. In her spare time, she loved to travel with her sisters. She was most recently a member of Lake Shore Church of Christ in Waco and previously a member of College Hill Church of Christ and Westside Church of Christ, both in Hillsboro.

Preceding her in death were her parents and three grandsons, Twin Johnson Boys and John Christopher Hawkins.

Survivors include her five children, Donna Ann Hawkins and husband, Johnny, of Waco, Carolyn Jo Martin and husband, Ronnie, of Whitney, James “Steve” Steven Erwin and wife, Nell, of Hillsboro, Jana Lea Tyler of Austin, and Lisa Gail Khoury and husband, Jeff, of Waco; two sisters, Wanda “Peggy” Bryan of Mesquite and Jerita Strickland and husband, Billy, of Arlington; three brothers, Gerald “Jerry” Rose and wife, Cheryl, of Garland and Gary Rose and Ronald “Ronnie” Rose, both of Whitney; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; five nephews; three nieces; and numerous cousins and friends.
