Annie Louise Kirkpatrick, 103, passed away on June 9, 2018, in Benbrook. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Ridge Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Pastor Paul Clark will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 prior to the service at the cemetery.

Annie was born on August 2, 1914, in Hillsboro, to Mortimer and Annie (Smith) Watkins. She grew up in Hillsboro, graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1931 and then attended Hill College. In 1935, she graduated with a teaching degree from Baylor University and began her teaching career in Mt. Calm, Hubbard and Lubbock. Thirty seven years later, she finished her career in Abilene. In July 1936, she married Louis Wesley Kirkpatrick.

Reading and doing crossword puzzles as well as doing activities with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were some of her favorite pastimes. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Louis, on December 4, 1977.

Survivors include her son, Jim Kirkpatrick and wife, Carol of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Michael L. Kirkpatrick and wife, Ginny of Joshua, Jeff Kirkpatrick and wife, Angela and Tim Kirkpatrick, all of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren, Malachi Kirkpatrick of Lubbock, Kayla Kirkpatrick, Misty Kirkpatrick, Wesley Kirkpatrick, Courtney Kirkpatrick, all of Fort Worth, Justin Kirkpatrick of Joshua and Kayaki Howle of Lubbock.
