Barbara Barber

Barbara Sanders Barber, 69 of Whitney passed away on July 12, 2011 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 15, 2011, at the Abiding Life Full Gospel Church in Whitney with Rev. Curtis Mc Gehee officiating. Interment will follow at Gholson Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Barbara was born on June 11, 1942 in Waco Texas; the daughter of the late Elijah and Pairlee (Harvill) Black. She attended Gholson and La Vega schools and lived in Bellmead for approximately 6 years. Barbara then moved to Rosenthal where her four children were raised and lived there until 1997. On March 21, 2000, she married Billy Barber and moved to Whitney where she resided at the time of her death. She was a member of the Abiding Life Full Gospel Church in Whitney.

Also preceding her in death were seven siblings and Loy Sanders, the father of her children.

Survivors include her husband, Billy of Whitney; children, Ray Sanders and wife, Kim of Robinson, Gene Sanders of Groesbeck, Molynda Sanders Kennemore of Robinson, Charlie Sanders of Robinson; step children, Wesley Barber and wife, Bertha of Mt. Calm, Angela Barber of Waco, Sara Chapman of Waco; brother, Neil Simpson Black and wife, Wanda of Gholson; sister, Mary Louise Black Rich and husband, Bill of Lacy-Lakeview; 7 grandchildren, Ray Sanders, II and wife, Lee, David Kennemore, Colt Sanders, Jeffrey Kennemore, Brandon Sanders, Dude Sanders and Stormy Lynn Sanders; 4 step grandchildren, Allen Barber, Miriah Shaw, Brandon Garcia, Sierra Garcia and Jaden Chapman; and several nieces and nephews.
