Barbara Gail Gaddy

Barbara Gail Gaddy, 66, of Hillsboro passed away peacefully on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Hillcrest in Waco surrounded by family. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until Noon on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Pastor Joey Crenshaw officiating.

Barbara was born on June 21, 1955, in Odessa, Texas to Henry and Irene (Hugghins) Gaddy.  She attended Hillsboro High School.

Barbara accepted Jesus as her Savior at an early age and her life reflected her love for Him.  She, much like her mom, left a lasting impression on every life she touched through her loving kindness, generous smile and her playful humor.  Barbara loved spending time with her grandchildren, son, sister and family.  They were her pride and joy.  Everyone loved being with such a beautiful and loving person as she was a real sweetheart to all.  Barbara loved her big sister so much and she was loved dearly in return.  Her nieces reflected on her impact on their lives and they responded that she was irreplaceable and that they could hardly remember a Christmas without her being with them.  The gifts she always gave were love, sacrificial giving, and thinking of others.  Her grandchildren spoke lovingly about their grandma regularly and will miss her immensely.  Barbara, while never considered rich in material things, was rich in love, both expressed and returned.

Barbara also had a love for animals, especially Layla, her niece’s new puppy, along with Brownie and Coconut, her son’s cats that would lay with her when she came to visit.  Over the years she also enjoyed drawing and other forms of art.  Elvis Presley was her favorite musical artist and movie star.  Simply put, she will be missed more than words can describe, but is at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Gaddy.

Survivors include her son, Daniel Gaddy and wife, Jessica, of Waco; grandchildren, Joshua, Taylor, and Dylan; sister, Darlene Ellis and husband, Ray; nieces, Debbie Bryant and husband, Eric, Lori Matheny, and Rebekah Lawson and husband, Daniel; great nieces and great nephews; and a host of friends, many of whom viewed her as family.
