Barbara Dell (Springer) Kendrick

Barbara Dell Kendrick, age 90, of Hillsboro peacefully passed away June 15, 2021.   A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Mr. Ryan Mangum officiating.   She will lie in state from noon to 7:00 PM Thursday June 18, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall in Hillsboro.

She was born July 10, 1930, in Hillsboro to Owen and Hazel (Cypert) Springer.  Barbara lived in several places growing up as a child including Itasca and Files Valley.  After graduating high school in 1947 she attended the 4-C Business College to become a secretary.  Barbara married the love of her life, Billy Joe Kendrick on October 22, 1955.  They enjoyed 65 years together.  She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Itasca. Barbara enjoyed the companionship of always having a dog, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and reading.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Hazel; her husband, Billy, and daughter, Theresa Basye.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Dollar and husband, Jack; son-in-law, Mike Basye; grandchildren, Brad Basye and wife, Shelbi, Allison Nivens and husband, Kyle, Jacob James Dollar; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Nivens and Beau Basye.

The family would like to say thank you to Dr. James Earhart and Homestead Nursing and Rehab of Hillsboro for all the love and care they have shown during this time.
