Barbara Ann (Finch) Wilson

Barbara Ann Wilson, age 83, of Itasca passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in Hillsboro. A private family service will be held. She will lie in state from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Facial masks and social distancing are required.

Barbara was born on August 13, 1937, in Milford, Texas to Marvin Lofton and Jennie Vea (Wardlaw) Finch. She grew up in Milford and graduated from Milford High School in 1955. Barbara was united in marriage to Harvey Wilson on September 1, 1956. She worked in Dallas for Sun Oil Company for 10 years. During this time, she took several years of college courses at Texas University in Austin, Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, and Texas Tech in Lubbock. Barbara then worked for 25 years in education in Keller, Van Alstyne, Era, Hillsboro, and Itasca ISD’s, retiring from education in 1997. She was very active in game groups Bunko and 42. Barbara also served on the Board of Hill County Appraisal District and as an election official for Hill County.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jennie Vea Finch in March of 1988; father, Marvin Lofton Finch in November of 1992; husband, Harvey O’Neal Wilson in September of 2019; daughter, Monica DeAnn Wilson in August of 2015; grandson, Bryant Wilson in November of 2019; brother, Talmadge Finch; and sister, Marilyn Love.

Barbara is survived by her son, Richard Wilson and wife, Melissa; brother, Charles Finch and wife, Debbie; sister, Maurine Powell; grandchildren, Alecia Gilchrist and husband, Mike, Sarah Macon and husband, Will, and Jacey Wilson; great-grandchildren, Tucker Gilchrist, Carli Gilchrist and Fisher Macon; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
