Barger Lee Geltmeier

Barger Lee Geltmeier, 84, of Malone, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, in Round Rock, Texas. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Christ Lutheran Church, Hillsboro, Texas, with Reverend Michael Nemec officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Marshall and Marshal Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Barger was born October 18, 1938, in Malone, Texas, to Joe and Mary (Zettler) Geltmeier. He worked for Martin News Agency from the time he was seventeen until retiring at sixty-five. Barger was a cowboy at heart who loved horses. An incredibly generous man, his love for family was unconditional and he was the rock of the family. Barger made every family member feel safe and secure. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hillsboro, Texas.

Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Geltmeier; and his sister Bea Phillips; he is survived by his wife, Linda Westberry; his children, Shannan Rochon and Sherri Geltmeier; four stepchildren; grandchildren, Logan Rochon and Landen Rochon; his sister, Sharon Stuckly; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
