Beatrice Grantham

Beatrice Grantham went to be with her Lord and Savior February 18, 2012 surrounded by family members.

Services will held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church near Whitney. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Known as Betty for all of her life, she was born in Gonzales, Texas on October 26, 1930 to Sixto and Bertha L. Rodriguez. Her family moved to San Antonio when she was nine years old. In 1947, she married Eddie Guzman and they had five children.

In 1985, she married Robert Grantham (Chief) and he preceded her in death May 3, 1999. After retiring she and Chief moved to Lake Whitney in 1987. She was a faithful member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and served in many areas.

Also preceding her in death were her grandson and great great granddaughter.

She is survived by daughters, Dolores Nichols and husband, Edward of Bynum, Beatrice Guzman of Whitney, Loretta Wheeler of Whitney; sons, Eddie Guzman and wife Maria of Ingleside and John Guzman and wife, Rosa of Whitney. She enjoyed fourteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
