Bee Malone, 91, of Hillsboro passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2012, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Bob Neely officiating. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, OK with John Repass officiating.
Bee was born January 31, 1921 in Driftwood, OK, daughter of the late Ray E. and Golda Marie (Burger) Barnum. She grew up in Oklahoma, graduated from Oklahoma State University, and went on to become a school teacher. In 1942, she married Jerry Grant and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1987. For a number of years, the couple lived over-seas before moving back to Oklahoma.
After being reunited with Lee Malone at their 50th high school reunion, Bee and Lee were married on January 7, 1989. The couple lived in Oklahoma during the summer and Florida in the winter. They loved to travel in their air stream. In 2005, they moved to the air stream community in Hillsboro.
Bee loved to cook and was “Miss Hospitality.” In her spare time she loved to play card games, especially Bridge. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro and the North Texas Air Stream Community.
Also preceding her in death were a brother and sister.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Malone of Hillsboro; two children, Cindy Sullivan and husband, Skip, of Bedford and Kirk Grant and wife, Carmen, of Dallas; and three grandchildren, Chris Sullivan and wife, Amy, Miranda Grant, and Todd Grant.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the OSU Foundation, Dr. Jerry Grant Scholarship, Acct. # 21-03700, P. O. Box 1749, Stillwater, OK 74079-1749.
