Benny Frank Tufts

Benny Frank Tufts, 78, of Hillsboro, Texas passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022.  Benny was born August 28, 1943, in Dallas, Texas to Ware Gilbert and Usa Lee (Hastings) Tufts.

Benny worked on the family farm and at the well-known Turkey Shop and Cafeteria owned by his parents in Abbott, Texas for many years. He married Linda Kay Allen on August 20, 1974, and later started their own business, Tufco Ready Mix, Inc.  in 1986 in Waxahachie, Texas. It was very successful after some lean years. After buying the land Benny grew up on in Hillsboro, Texas they sold the Company and retired to the ranch in Hillsboro where they lived out their remaining years together.

He is preceded in death by daughters Penny Johnson of Overton, Texas, Debra Hight of Hillsboro, Texas, and Tasha Maler of Somerville, Texas. Also preceded by Mother Usa Lee Tufts and Father Gilbert Tufts of Hillsboro, Texas.

He is survived by Linda Kay Tufts; daughter Rebecca Wood and husband Cecil; granddaughter Lisa Kay Lockwood and son Axel Cash; grandsons, Joe Allen Sheddan and his daughters Bailey and McKinley, Jacob Todd Hight and his son Landon, and Josh Johnson and his children Jordan, Landry, and Luke. He is also survived by brothers Robert and children Aprille and Bryan, Bill and wife Anita and children Katie, Kyle, and Kary, Barry and wife Dolores and children Matthew and Lauren, and Buddy and wife Frances and sons Bradley Ware and Brandon Clark as well as many great nieces and nephews, cousins and other family and friends including his long-time employees Scott Eoff and David Hammons. Also, the dedicated employees of Tufco Ready Mix, Inc with special recognition to Ken Needham and Joe Cain for their many years of devoted service.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Visiting Angels for taking such great care of Benny and Linda for almost 3 years now, especially Aunt Janice, who has been with us almost from the beginning.
