Bernice Carpenter

Bernice "Penny" Carpenter, 76. of Waco passed away Monday, Jan. 17, 2005 in Waco. Bernice was the daughter of Otto and Leta White Ratliff and had lived in the Aquilla area for 20 years. She married James Oren Ferguson and he preceded her in death in 1967. Later she married Billy Carpenter in 1979 and he preceded her in death in 2003. She was a member of Abiding Life Assembly of God Church in Whitney. Also preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters and two brothers. Survivors inlcude her children, Tonda James and husband, Carl of Waco, Rick Ferguson and wife, Helen of Austin; brothers, Joe Ratliff and wife, Virginia of Whitney, Donnie Ratliff and wife, Darlene of Whitney; six grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
