Bernice Sanders

Bernice was born July 17, 1924 in Dresden, Navarro County, Texas the daughter of Ben B. and Effie StaggsMelton. She lived in the Malone and Bynum areas before moving to Hillsboro in 1978. On November 5, 1943 she married Daryl Sanders in Mertens. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Preceding her in death were her parents and a grandson, Jonathan Sanders, on February 26, 1984. Survivors include her husband, Daryl E. Sanders of Hillsboro; two children, Michael D. Sanders and wife, Becky, of Hillsboro and Brenda J. Pederson and husband, David, of Hillsboro; two brothers, J. K. Melton of Blooming Grove and Douglas Dwayne Melton of Blooming Grove; three sisters, Helen Farish of Blooming Grove, Betty Wilson of Fort Worth, and Margie Wharton of Bellville; two grandsons, Brian Pederson of San Marcos and Mark Pederson of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
