Betty Bower

Betty Bower, 82, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro with Rev. Leah Hidde-Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Betty was born January 27, 1933 in Corsicana to Harry and Margaret (Harper) Auld. Growing up in Corsicana, she went on to graduate from Corsicana High School and attend Navarro College. On November 22, 1951, Betty was united in marriage to Wayne Bower. In 1952, the couple moved to Hillsboro, where Betty would be employed with Hillsboro ISD for 32 years as a secretary and bookkeeper. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.

Preceding her in death were her parents and an infant sister, Barbara.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Wayne Bower of Hillsboro; two sons, David Bower and wife, Donna, of Hillsboro and Steve Bower of Grapevine; four grandchildren, Natalie Bower, Steven Crawson, Holly Kubitza, and Brooklin Bower; three great-grandchildren, Lane Kubitza, Emerson Kubitza, and Keegan Williams; and many friends.
