Betty Jo Davis, 83, of Hillsboro passed away Friday, November 30, 2012, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1, at the funeral home.
Betty Jo was born April 13, 1929 in Cotton Gin, Freestone County, Texas to Commodore Dewey and Freddie Irene (Battles) Anderson. She grew up and attended school in the Shiloh community. For many years she worked as a seamstress for Malouf and Rose Marie Sewing Factories. Later in life, she worked as a Granny at Grandy’s Restaurant and SAS at the mall.
Betty Jo loved to cook, read, and be outdoors. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Thomas Anderson and Curtis D. Anderson; and two sisters, Mary Jo Anderson and Doris Collins.
Survivors include her three children, John D. Williams of Cleburne, Carl Davis “David” Williams and wife, Christine, of West, and Susan Hawkins and husband, Terry, of Hillsboro; brother, James H. Anderson of Mexia; two sisters, Lynda Frank of Hillsboro and Caroline Rawlins of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Heather Williams Downing, Jason David Williams and wife, Steffaine, Anthony Williams, Shella Hawkins Botello and husband, Chris, and Jeffrey Hawkins and wife, Malissa; seven great-grandchildren, Bradley, Shaina, Elizabeth, Aaron, Gavin, Mallory, and Jalen; and several nieces and nephews.
