Betty Carole (Wills) Edwards of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022, at home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Ridge Park Cemetery, Hillsboro, Texas, with Pastor Tommy Prud’homme officiating.
Betty was born in Aquilla on February 9, 1932, to Matthew Carroll and Mary Beulah (Miller) Wills. Raised in Aquilla, Betty graduated from Aquilla High School in 1949 as Salutatorian. She attended Hill Junior College in Hillsboro and then received her bachelor’s degree in education from Southwestern University in Georgetown and worked on her master’s degree at the University of Texas, Austin. Betty was united in marriage to Kerby Edwards on August 26, 1951, in Aquilla. Kerby preceded her in death on February 20, 2006. Betty started a private school at Calvary United Methodist Church in Paris, Texas and was regularly active in the church and women’s civic and social organizations. She enjoyed baking and traveling the world with her husband.
Betty was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include two daughters, Trisse Hilton and her husband, Jimmy, and Lisa Kline; her grandchildren, Taylor Brown and his wife Sarah, Wills Brown, and Cameron Kline; and great-grandson, Mac Wills Brown.
