Betty was born on February 8, 1930, in Ninnekah, Oklahoma, to Allen and Hazel (Nixon) Hunnicutt. She graduated from high school in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Betty owned Kay’s Corner in Dallas where she met her husband, John Hudson. They moved to Whitney, where she enjoyed life as a housewife, as well as fishing, her hummingbird feeders, crossword puzzles and Olympic sports. But most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren. She was of the Methodist faith and also a member of American Legion Post #522. For the past 10 years, she lived at Park Plaza Nursing Home, and her gorgeous smile brought many more loved ones into her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; daughter, Becky Shoemake and daughter-in-law, Mary Shoemake.
She is survived by her husband, John Hudson, daughter Sandra Gable and husband, Mike Ray; son Billy Shoemake; grandchildren, Micheal Perkins, Jeremy Gable, Tara Caskey, Taylor Shoemake; great-grandchildren, Karlie Gable and Christofer Caskey.
The family would like to give special thanks to Odyssey Hospice and Susan Malone for the compassionate and loving care they provided.
