Betty Kirkpatrick

Betty Faye Montgomery Kirkpatrick, 77, of Peoria, passed away on October 1, 2018, in Waco.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 5, 2018, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Mr. David Snipes and Rev. Michael Green officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Grove “Greenie” Cemetery near Aquilla. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Betty was born on August 3, 1941, in Hill County, to John and Jimmie (Poteet) Montgomery. She grew up in the Aquilla area and attended schools there, graduating from Aquilla High School in 1959. On March 23, 1963, she married William “Bill” Kirkpatrick in Whitney. She worked at Wood’s of Texas, Foodway Grocery and Hawk and High, all in Hillsboro, before working as a secretary for Hill County Farm Bureau, retiring in 2003.

An avid Elvis Presley fan, she also enjoyed playing bingo, reading and listening to all types of music and visiting and spending time with family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Maurice Montgomery.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Kirkpatrick of Peoria; daughters, Laura Reed of Waco, Lorraine Kirkpatrick of Peoria and Loretta Plumlee and husband, Hunter of Aquilla; grandchildren, Heather Reed and Brady Reed, both of Waco; sisters, Daisy Shay and husband, Roy of Bethany, OK and Anna Bell of Whitney; and her pet companion, Dottie.
