Betty C. Perryman, 78, of Grand Prairie passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2013, at Matlock Place in Arlington. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Rev. Mike Kerzee of King Memorial United Methodist Church in Whitney officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-Noon on Sunday, prior to the graveside, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Betty was born July 13, 1934 in Hillsboro to Carl T. and Mae Delle (Autrey) Shumate. She lived in Hillsboro through the 8th grade at which time her family moved to Monahans, where she graduated from high school in 1951. On April 5, 1952, she married Charles L. Perryman in Wichita Falls. An Air Force wife, the couple served in many locations including 10 years in California. Following her husband’s retirement from the Air Force, the couple moved to Grand Prairie. For 61 wonderful years of love and marriage, Betty and Charles lived by the phrase “As long as things are alright between us, nothing else matters.”
For over 20 years, she worked in customer service for Sargent-Sowell, a safety equipment company. An avid reader, she also loved to work crossword puzzles. Betty had fought a valiant battle against cancer since 2008. She was of the Methodist faith.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Perryman of Grand Prairie; three children, David Perryman and wife, Janet, of Arlington, Steve Perryman of Fort Worth, and Kittie Perryman of Lewisville; and one granddaughter, Caitlen Perryman of Farmersville.
