Betty Lena Belle (Clinger) Ramirez

Betty Lena Belle (Clinger) Ramirez, age 89, of Hillsboro passed from this life to her home in Heaven on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Homestead Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Hillsboro. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Pastor Michael Nemec officiating. A viewing will be prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Face masks and social distancing are required.

Betty was born August 9, 1931 in Brookville, PA.  The eldest daughter of Philip J and Mary Elizabeth (Himes) Clinger. She spent her childhood and school years in Brookville and had many stories of growing up there with 2 sisters and 9 brothers.  On October 27, 1950, she married Louis Ramirez in Corey PA, came to Texas and began the adventure of their life.  Together they traveled as Louis worked on the building of pipelines all over the United States with her by his side making a home wherever the jobs took them.  To this union was born a son Louis Jr and a daughter Karen Lorraine.  With kids in tow they took in numerous sights along the way and made many happy memories.  In the 1960’s Betty and Louis found and purchased their home base in Hillsboro TX.  They continued to travel until Louis’ retirement and then spent time in their garden and enjoyed trips to go fishing.

Betty pursued many artistic interests and was very talented teaching herself sewing, embroidery, crocheting, quilting, ceramics and jewelry making.  Many of the beautiful items she created were gifted to her family.  She loved word puzzle books, reading and watching movies.  As a young woman Betty was Baptized in the Methodist Church.

Her husband Louis preceded her in death on January 30, 2008.

Also preceding her were her parents, brothers Jack, Phil, Myron, Daniel, Richard and Steve and sister Beverly; her son-in-law Michael Mitchell and grandson Louis Ramirez lll.

Those left to cherish her memory are 1 sister, Mary Speicher; 3 brothers, Donald Clinger, Parker Clinger and Wayne Clinger all of Pennsylvania; she leaves behind her son, Louis Ramirez Jr and wife Terri of Hillsboro, TX; her daughter, Karen Mitchell of Whitney, TX; her Grandchildren, Michelle Dugan and Darren of Norfolk, VA, Amber Henry and Jim of Whitney, TX; Chance Ramirez and Bethany of Hillsboro, TX, Zoie Hawley and Dave of Whitney, TX, and Sean Mitchell of Midland, Tx; great grandchildren, Adeline, Haley, Emma Jane, and James Thomas Henry ll, Patrick, Stuart, Selah, Yosef, Timothy and Shalom Hawley, and Mason Mitchell; great great grandson, Grayson Bean; and many nieces and nephews.
