Betty Shipley

Betty is in the arms of the Good Shepherd. She died April 8. Betty was a native of Hillsboro, Texas. She attended Hill College, and graduated from Seton Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed at Children's Medical Center, Dallas, for 26 years, as a Supervisor and a Quality Control Nurse. Her caring, love for children extended past retirement. She volunteered two days each week in DISD School Clinics for two years. She was an active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Blessed Sacrament Parish, Dallas and Renew, Our Lady of Mercy, Hillsboro. Betty was an avid reader, and loaned and gave her books to many friends. Her many nieces and nephews were always welcome in her home. She looked forward to their visits. Miss Betty was preceded in death by her parents; Perry T. Shipley and Nell Dixon Shipley. Survivors include her sister, Cathryn Shipley Pratt and Clyde Pratt, nieces and nephews, David D.Shipley and Gay, Patricia Shipley Wilson, Perry K. Vick, Katrinia Pratt Bell and Bill Bell, Randall E. Dodd and Linda, Betty Dodd Deming and Don, Charlotte Pratt Michelsen and John, Charles S. Pratt and many great nieces and nephews, and four great great nieces and nephews. At Betty's request, she will be cremated.
