Betty Watkins

Betty Jo Watkins, of Whitney, passed away on January 30, 2017, in Waco. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.

Betty Jo was born in Fort Worth on August 23, 1934, to Ernest and Vada (Fitzgerald) Smith. She attended Castlebury Elementary and graduated from Northside High School. On July 1, 1953, she married Robert Watkins in Weatherford, and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2010. She was an avid traveler and card player. But, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Smitty and Billy Smith.

Survivors include her children, Susan Bradford and husband, Chris of Whitney and Nancy Romo and husband, Richard of Huntingdon, PA; 4 grandchildren, Neil Bradford and wife, Megan of Cypress, Ashley Martin and husband, Cliff of Bossier City, LA, Bobby Romo and wife Amelia of Huntington, PA and Eric Romo of Seattle, WA; great-grandchildren, Makayla Martin, Kinsley Martin, Emily Bradford and Elizabeth Bradford; and sister Peggy Joyce Gibbons of Dallas.

Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice, 6700 Sanger Avenue, Waco, TX 76710.
