Betty Williams

Betty Jean (Granny) Williams, of Morgan, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at her residence. Services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Director’s chapel in Whitney with Rev. John Paulson, officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Cemetery in Morgan. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Friday, November 22, 2013, at the funeral home.

Betty was born on July 24, 1935, in Dallas, to the late Cone Samuel and Pink (Pharis) Jackson . She lived most of her life in the Morgan area and married Bobby Williams on May 17, 1979. Betty ran a daycare for many years and was a member of the Steiner Independent Baptist Church. Painting, quilting and flower arranging were hobbies that she enjoyed. But she especially idolized her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gene Cromeans; three brothers, Sadie, Leo and Andy Jackson; two sisters, Doris Wright and Sue Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Williams; daughter Doris (Sissy) Barker and husband, Dave, of Rockdale; Robert Cromeans and Stacy Cromeans of Waxahachie; step-children, Donna Barnett, Jimmy Williams and Ronnie Williams all of Whitney; sister, Nonnie Hayes of Gatesville; grandchildren, Betty Marie Liu, Kevin Cromeans, Jody Cromeans, Dusty Barker, Derek Barker, Misty Watson, Rachel Jones, Roger Cromeans, Nikki Cromeans, Bobby Allen Barnett, Jake Barnett, Jessica Williams, Ryan Williams, Jimmy Williams, Randy Williams, Emily Williams, and Scooter Williams; numerous great-grandchildren.
