Bevelyn Joyce (Schneider) Lund

Bevelyn “Joyce” Lund died peacefully May 31st, 2024, from complications of a stroke at Medical City in Arlington, Texas. A visitation will take place from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, Monday, June 3, 2024, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, Whitney.

Joyce was born July 30th, 1936, to Henry and Evelyn (Burhop) Schneider in Iowa City, Iowa, the eldest of four children.

Joyce loved to dance winning several local dance contests as a young woman. She delighted in laughter and having a good time. Joyce had a playful spirit and a compassionate heart, always willing to help a friend or family member in need. Joyce enjoyed walking, gardening and the annual ritual of spring planting, with sunflowers, geraniums and red roses being favorite flowers. Joyce enjoyed playing practical jokes on friends and family and was always up for an adventure. She was fiercely competitive and enjoyed all sorts of board and card games, as well as Wii bowling. Joyce loved to travel and thoroughly enjoyed the years spent traveling the country as a full-time RVer. Joyce was a proud and stubborn woman who loved her family immensely, doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, being in her own words “one tough cookie”.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 58 years, Richard Lund; her beloved sister Janice Mezera; and her grandson Ethan Nall.

Joyce is survived by her sister Jeanne Vargas and brother Doug Schneider; daughter Yarri Soteros and son-in-law Jeffrey Wallace; daughter Pamela Lodge and son-in-law Mark Lodge; daughter Kriss Ramos and son-in-law Mario Ramos; and son Kirk Lund; grandchildren Theresa Ramos, Harley Jo Lund, Mikala Chairez, and Antonio Ramos; and great-grandchildren Madilyn, Trypton, Harlynn, and Liliana (in-utero). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Tarrant County Food Bank at Tarrant Area Food Bank - Acceptiva.
