Biography

Billie Dossett, 83, of Richardson passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at a Richardson hospital. Graveside services will be at Noon, Monday, Feb. 13 at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Rev. Ken James officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Monday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro prior to the service.

Billie was born on March 27, 1928 in Hillsboro to John Tarleton and Naomi Fay (Grunson) Andrews. She grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School. On July 1, 1949, she married A. J. Dossett in Hillsboro. The couple would share more than 51 years together before he preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 2000.

Following their marriage, the couple lived in Longview and Dallas for a few years before moving to Houston where they remained for over 30 years. In 1981, they moved back to Hillsboro where Billie was a member of First Baptist Church.

Among her many interests were sewing, crocheting and painting. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for them and the rest of her family. She was a devoted caretaker for her family. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Katherine Acker and Ava Griffin; and grandson, Stephen Andrew Dossett, Jr.

Billie is survived by a son, Stephen A. Dossett, Sr. and wife, Lisa of Richardson; daughter, Beverly Richardson and husband, Michael of Santa Fe, NM; brother, Vaughn Andrews of Waco; sister, Eula Mae Wells of Waco; 3 grandchildren, Stephenie Munson and husband, Lemont of Dallas, DeLisa Palombi and Joseph Palombi, both of Santa Fe, NM; 5 great-grandchildren, Sereena Palombi, Brandon Dossett, Noah Cisnero, Lexie R. Munson, and London W. Munson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
