Billie Mack Hoffman

Billie Mack Hoffman, 83, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021, due to health complications from the Covid-19 virus.  Private family services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021.  The funeral service will be live streamed via Marshall & Marshall’s Facebook page.  Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro are in charge of arrangements.  Facial masks and social distancing are required.

Billie Mack Hoffman was born December 11, 1937, in Mullin, Texas.  He was the son of James and Mary Hoffman and brother to James Hoffman, Beulah Dannelley, Ralph Hoffman, Joel Hoffman, Charles Hoffman, and Nancy Allen.

Billie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary and by his brothers, James, Ralph, Charles, and Joel.  He is survived by his sisters, Beulah and Nancy.

Billie was ill as an infant, preventing him from speaking and thinking the same as others.  He had the same feelings as everyone else.  He knew love, happiness, sadness, frustration, and the other feelings we all experience.  He just had to work harder than the rest of us to express and understand them.

Billie lived most of his days in the community of Chriesman, Texas, among close friends and family. He knew everyone in his hometown and was treated as a true friend.  He looked forward to visiting with neighbors every day.  The family farm was a place that Billie really enjoyed.  He loved the outdoors. His days were spent caring for the pets and helping with livestock.  He kept the yard mowed because it was important to Billie to keep it neat and tidy.

Billie’s parents, brothers, and sisters shared their homes with him for 83 years. His family was a constant in his life.  He lived with his parents until their deaths.  He was then taken care of by his brother, Charles, until his death.   He spent the last 20 years with his sister, Nancy, in Whitney, Texas.  Billie and Nancy were best friends and companions as children and continued to be as the years went on.  They kept each other active, healthy, and happy.

He will be missed by his family.
