Billie Reid

Billie "Honey" Helms Reid, 87, of Arlington passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 9, 2017. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2020 South Collins St., Arlington, TX 76010. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to service time at the church. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Mrs. Reid will lie in state on Monday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Beloved Mother and Grandmother, Billie was born in Hillsboro on March 27, 1930. She was an award winning cook who, at one time, owned her own catering company. She entered cooking contests at the State Fair of Texas for numerous years where she won many blue ribbons in different categories and even published two cook books. Billie was a faithful member of the Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist in Arlington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Reid and son, James Reid.

Billie is survived by two sons, Michael and wife, Suzanne Reid and Gary and wife, Gayle Reid. Other survivors include 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous extended family members and friends.
