Billy Bob Arnold, 72, of Whitney, passed away on January 21, 2016, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. A visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, at the funeral home.

Billy was born in Waco, on January 2, 1944, to Cuel Leon and Frances Laverne (Mahurin) Arnold.
He worked as a butcher at Piggly Wiggly, Safeway, Bush’s Grocery and the Kountry Grocery. In Lovington, New Mexico he worked as a police officer for 7 years. On April 27, 1962, he and Donna Herr were married in Plainview.

After graduating from MCC with a degree in respiratory therapy, he worked for Providence Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 2007 and also taught as an adjunct professor at MCC for 5 years.

He enjoyed cooking and his favorite pastime was going to the casino. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren unconditionally.

He was a past member of the Sweetwater Masonic Lodge and also played Santa Claus for many years.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a son, Tommy Coe Arnold.

Survivors include his wife Donna Arnold of Whitney; children Tim Arnold and wife, Deanna, Tony Arnold and wife, Sheila, Tammy Arnold and Toby Arnold, all of Whitney; 9 grandchildren, Timmy, Amy, Jaci, Laney. Tayte, Trista, Madison, Brooklyn and Eva Joe; 3 great-grandchildren, Cade, Justyce and Tommy; a brother, Rick Arnold and wife Sharon of Cleburne and sisters, Linda McDaniel and husband, Floyd, and Sonja Cleveland all of Whitney.

Memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 510 N. Valley Mills Drive, Waco, TX 76710.
