Billy Boyd

Billy Gene Boyd passed away at the age of 88 on April 13, 2018. No services are scheduled at this time.

He was born in Hill County near Peoria on February 4, 1930 and attended Hill Junior College before he married Ruby Nell Barnett on October 8, 1949. They lived in Waco briefly, then spent the next 60 years in Grand Prairie, Texas. They moved to the Dripping Springs area in 2011. After his wife passed away, he moved to Whitney where he currently resided.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Nell Boyd; parents, George (Pete) and Isabell Boyd; two brothers, James and George L. "Zippy" Boyd; one sister, Mary Frances Reid; and a great-grandson, Joshua Kyle Hollingshead.

He is survived by one daughter and her husband, Jeannie and Jerry Hollingshead of Peoria; one grandson and his wife, Kyle and Annie Hollingshead; and one great-grandson, Quinlan Boyd Hollingshead of Dripping Springs; two sisters-in-law, Helen Ward and husband, Bobby and Billie Barnett, all of Whitney.

He was the consumate "Mr. Fix-it," able to repair almost anything with scrap parts and ingenuity. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be deeply missed.
