Biography

Billy G. Cooper, 62 of Whitney passed away on October 11, 2011 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Cemetery with Rev. Rusty Penney officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 PM, Wednesday at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Billy was born on July 22, 1949 in Altus, Oklahoma, son of the late Albert and Betty (Cane) Cooper. He married Brenda Covington on October 11, 1985 and she preceded him in death on June 22, 2001. Billy had worked for Flower Construction Company for over 27 years as an electrician and retired in 2007. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed riding horses. He had served 8 years in the National Guard and was of the Baptist faith.

Also preceding him in death was his brother, Burl W. Cooper.

Survivors include his step-children, Nick Yale, Stephen Baker, Pamela Rubio, Christopher Baker, Scott Baker and Sabrina Cooper; sisters, Judy Kay Nelson and husband, Lowell, and Sandra E. Cooper, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
